Personalised Phone Cases: Name, Pattern or Bumper?
The short answer
Pick the name case if you want a name raised in a second colour, the pattern case for hearts, stars, daisies, dots or checks with optional initials, and the bumper case if you want thicker corners and a lip round the screen. All three are 3D printed in PETG in Colchester for every iPhone from the 13 to the 17, including the Pro, Pro Max, Plus, mini, Air and 16e. They're slim decorative cases, not drop-tested rugged ones.

A phone case is something you hold every day, so it's a nice place for a name. We make three personalised cases, all printed to order in Colchester. Here's how they differ and what to expect from them, honestly.
Which personalised phone case should I choose?
Choose by what you want on the back: a name, a pattern, or a bit more bulk round the edges.
| Name case | Pattern case | Bumper case | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | £18 | £18 | £20 |
| Walls | 1.6 mm, slim snap-on | 1.6 mm, slim snap-on | 2.4 mm, thicker corners |
| Weight | About 28 g | About 30 g | About 38 g |
| On the back | A name up to 10 letters, across the bottom or down the side | Hearts, stars, daisies, polka dots or checks, plus optional initials | An optional name up to 10 letters across the bottom |
| Best for | A clean look with a name | Something fun and all-over | Anyone who wants a chunkier feel |
All three are made from PETG in a gloss finish, and you pick two colours: one for the case and one for the name or pattern.
Which phones do your cases fit?
We make every case for every iPhone from the iPhone 13 to the iPhone 17: the standard, Pro and Pro Max of each year, the Plus and mini models, plus the iPhone 16e and iPhone Air. That's 21 models.
Each case is made to Apple's published dimensions for that exact model. Check you've picked the right model before you order, because a Pro and a standard phone of the same year aren't the same shape. Not sure which iPhone you have? Look in Settings → General → About.
How is a 3D printed name different from a printed-ink case?
Our names and patterns are a second colour of plastic built into the case, not ink on the surface.
Many personalised cases have ink or a sticker printed onto a plain case. That looks sharp on day one, but surface ink can scratch or rub off where your hand grips the phone. We print the case and lettering together in two filaments, so the name is part of the case.
| 3D printed name (ours) | Printed-ink name (typical) | |
|---|---|---|
| How it's made | A second colour of plastic, printed into the case | Ink or a decal on the surface |
| Feel | Raised, so you can feel the letters | Flat |
| Wear | Can't peel or rub off | Can scratch or fade with handling |
| Colour choice | Pick the case and name colour separately | Depends on the printer |
| Photos | Not possible | Often possible |
The trade-off is detail. A raised name or a bold pattern works beautifully; a photo doesn't. If you want a picture of the dog on your phone, an ink-printed case is the better choice.

What can I put on the name case?
The name case takes one name of up to 10 letters, raised in a second colour.
You choose whether it runs across the bottom or down the side, pick a font, and pick the case and name colours from our 10 PETG colours. Short names print biggest. The designer shows you exactly how it will look before you buy.
What patterns can I get?
The pattern case comes in hearts, stars, daisies, polka dots or checks, printed into the back in a second colour.
You can add up to 3 initials in a little badge at the bottom, in rounded, bold, retro or comic letters, or leave it pattern-only. Because the pattern is part of the plastic, it can't peel.

Is the bumper case protective?
The bumper case is our chunkiest, but it isn't a rugged case and it hasn't been drop-tested.
It has 2.4 mm walls, beefed-up rounded corners and a raised lip that stands proud of the screen and camera. A name across the bottom is optional, so you can keep it plain.
We won't promise it will save your phone from a fall. None of our cases is drop-tested or certified, so if you drop your phone a lot, a dedicated rugged case is the safer choice.

Do your cases work with MagSafe and wireless charging?
We haven't tested them with MagSafe or wireless charging, so we can't say they will.
If MagSafe accessories or a charging pad matter to you, bear that in mind before ordering, or message the team and ask.
How long does a personalised case take?
We start your case within 24 hours of your order and post it as soon as it's finished.
UK delivery is from £2.99, and free when you spend £25 or more. You can also collect free from our Colchester office, by arrangement. Every case is made for one person, so please check the name and phone model carefully. Personalised items can't be returned for a change of mind, but if anything arrives faulty or wrong, we'll put it right. See our returns page.
FAQ
Can I order a case for an Android phone?
Not at the moment. We only make cases for iPhones, from the iPhone 13 to the iPhone 17.
Will the case fit with a screen protector?
We haven't tested our cases with screen protectors, so we can't promise a fit. If you're unsure, message the team.
Can I have a name and a pattern on the same case?
Not on one case. The pattern case takes initials only; for a full name, pick the name case or the bumper.
