How we price
Every print is priced from the same few numbers. Most of the price is the plastic and the printer time, plus a flat handling charge for the order.
- Material: PLA 10p a gram, PETG 12p a gram, TPU 16p a gram, ASA 15p a gram (on request). This covers the filament, waste and the odd failed print.
- Machine time: £1.50 per printer-hour, plus 15 minutes per order to set up.
- Handling: £4 per order, for checking your file, preparing the printer and packing.
- Extra colours: £1 per extra colour, per copy.
- Quantity: 5% off 2 or more, 10% off 10 or more, 20% off 50 or more, 25% off 100 or more (off the material, time and colour charges).
- Turnaround: Standard 3–5 working days; Express next working day, if we have room (×1.5).
- Minimum order: £10.
For the estimate, we work out the grams from your file's volume and surface area, and the print time from the grams (roughly 25 g an hour for PLA, 18 g an hour for PETG, 10 g an hour for TPU).

Files and sizes
- File types: STL (binary or text), OBJ and 3MF, including Bambu Studio projects and sliced .gcode.3mf files. STEP and other CAD files go through the custom request form.
- Units: we assume millimetres. If the size looks wrong, you can switch to inches or centimetres.
- Largest single piece: 340 × 320 × 340 mm. Up to 256 × 256 × 256 mm fits on any of our printers. Bigger parts can be split and joined.
- File size: up to 150 MB for an estimate. Files up to 5 MB are sent with your request; for bigger ones, paste a link.

Questions about the estimate
How accurate is the instant estimate?
It's worked out from your file's volume and surface area, assuming 1.2 mm walls (3 lines) and the infill for the strength you pick. A real slice can come out a bit different, so we show a range, from 15% under to 25% over. Upload a sliced Bambu Studio file (.gcode.3mf) and we use the exact grams and print time from it instead.
Is my file uploaded when I get an estimate?
No. Your browser reads the file on your device. It's only sent to us if you press "Send for a firm quote".
What happens after I send it?
We check the file for problems (thin walls, overhangs, whether it needs supports or splitting) and email a firm price and ready date within 24 hours, Mon–Sat. If the firm price is more than 15% above your estimate, we'll tell you why. You pay nothing until you approve.
Is there a minimum order?
Yes: £10 per order (£15 for Express). Small parts often come in under that, so it's worth ordering a few at once. Quantity discounts start at 2 copies.
How big can you print?
Up to 340 × 320 × 340 mm in one piece on our largest printer (Bambu Lab H2S). Anything that fits in a 256 mm cube fits on any of our printers. Bigger parts can be printed in pieces and joined: send it and we'll quote.
Which files can you work from?
STL, OBJ and 3MF here. For STEP, Fusion or SolidWorks files, or a photo or sketch, use our custom request form and we'll take it from there.
How long does it take?
Standard: 3–5 working days after you approve. Express: next working day, if we have room, for 50% more. We post UK-wide, or you can collect free from our Colchester office by arrangement.
Does the price include postage and VAT?
Postage isn't included. It's added to your firm quote, or you can collect for free. We're not VAT registered, so there's no VAT to add.
